5 words. It is about damn time! I'm not sure if it's the fresh Italian air, the ingredients in the wine, or the glorious chicken, but today's run was the best run I've had so far - and the fastest! One mile in 8 minutes 23 seconds. I know. I know. Laughable if you're an experienced runner. But for me, a miracle! Not a moment of pain. Just fluttering on top of the pavement. Perfection! Errrr and the hot Italian firefighters I intentionally passed twice along the way were a nice added bonus.
Friends, I think this whole running thing is going to stick. Now if I can just get that second mile in with the same ease and excitement as the first. Sigh of relief.
Another city run. This time starting at the lovely little tourist attraction the Teatro Olimpico. The oldest surviving enclosed theatre in the world. Beautiful. Sadly I neglected to bring euros with me so I couldn't go inside. Maybe next time.

Walk home - Third time passing the Italian Firefighters. This is as close as I could get with my camera. The second my iPhone was ready to take a photo one of them walked around the corner. So of course I took this and pretended I was texting or looking at something online. Ha. Such a shame. |
