Mile 5 - My Head Hurts

Note to all: After consuming an entire bottle of wine, do NOT attempt to update your iPhone using your newly restored, never before synced, lap top computer. ALL of the music on my iPhone is gone. All of it. Very sad.

It seems I got a little too excited last night after remembering a song I needed to download. It goes a little something like this. I plugged my iPhone into my lap top, downloaded iTunes-( which had been erased along with the entire contents of my hard drive a few weeks ago), didn't read the prompt....then, WHACK! I now have an iPhone with the newest version of iTunes and ZERO music. Oh happy day.

This gives you a little glimpse into my morning cup of tea. I'm also inclined to mention - in addition to the slap on the face from iTunes, I also woke up with a killer headache and what can only be described as a softball size ball of mucus lodged inside my nasal cavity.

Was I one hundred percent excited to run today? No. In Fact, I was dreading it. I stalled for the majority of the day. Mainly because the idea of running without music makes me physically ill.  Thankfully I eventually remembered I had an old iPod stowed away in the closet. Score!

With zero motivation, and a hand full of tissues, I decided to make this run a quickie around the neighborhood block. The area of the block I'd never seen. So at least a little bit of excitement. Unexpectedly, what I thought would be a short sad run, turned into the best run of the week! A mile and a half with zero stops! Perhaps it was the nostalgic 2 year old 'Gym' playlist, or the fact that I had taken an antihistamine spiked with caffeine ? Regardless, I made it work! Just had to give myself a little kick in the bum.

When I got home the endorphins commanded me to sign up for another 10k race. I say 'another' because I signed up for one a while back, but backed out because I was a lazy turtle. The race is September 21st. 8 days before my Birthday. No backing out now!

Pictures from the run path.  I ventured north of Balls Pond Road for the first time - was pleasantly surprised.

Cheeky Time???
